Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how The Edge Collective (“we,” “us”) collects and uses personal information when you use Betting Edge at bettingedge.app (the “Service”). It works with our Terms of Use. The Service is intended for adults 21 and over.

2. Information we collect

We collect:

• Account data: name, email, password hash, and session tokens when you sign up or sign in.
• Membership data: plan (Desk or Edge), invite codes you redeem, and subscription status.
• Billing data: handled by Stripe. We receive customer and subscription IDs, plan, period end, and payment status. We do not store full card numbers.
• Product data: games you open, deep dives you run, tickets posted to the public ledger, and settings you save.
• Device and log data: IP address, user agent, pages, and error logs from our host (Vercel) so we can keep the Service up.
• Emails we send: password-reset messages via Resend, including the destination address and delivery status.

We do not require your sportsbook account, bankroll, or government ID to use Desk or Edge.

3. How we use it

• Create and secure your account, including password resets.
• Provide Desk, Edge, deep dives, and the public win/loss ledger.
• Bill Edge through Stripe and apply promotion codes.
• Send transactional mail (reset links, billing receipts from Stripe).
• Monitor abuse, debug outages, and improve research quality.
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising pixels on the product today.

4. Processors we use

We use vendors who process data on our instructions:

• Vercel — hosting and logs.
• Neon — database for accounts, entitlements, tickets, and cached research.
• Stripe — payments and the customer portal.
• Resend — transactional email (password reset).
• xAI — model inference when you run a deep dive or other live research. Prompts and returned text are sent to generate that research.

Each vendor has its own privacy terms. We share only what that vendor needs to do its job.

5. Cookies and sessions

We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and to remember book/platform choices on your device. These are required for the Service to work. We do not use them for cross-site ads.

6. Public ledger

Price-card and deep-dive tickets may appear on the public performance record (selection, market, result, source). That record is part of the product. It is not tied to your name or email on the public page. Do not put secrets in ticket notes or prompts you would not want processed by our models or stored in research cache.

7. Retention

We keep account and membership records while the account is open, and for a reasonable period after close so we can handle billing disputes, abuse, and legal holds. Cached deep dives expire on a schedule. Stripe retains payment records under its own rules. You can ask us to delete an account at hello@bettingedge.app; we will remove or de-identify what we control, except data we must keep (for example, a processed payment or a legal request).

8. Your choices

• Access or correct the name and email on your account.
• Cancel Edge in the billing portal. Desk remains unless you ask us to delete the account.
• Request deletion or a copy of account data by emailing hello@bettingedge.app.
• Depending on where you live (including California and similar state laws), you may have rights to know, delete, or opt out of “sales” or “sharing.” We do not sell personal information. To exercise a right, email us. We will not discriminate against you for asking.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we learn we have, we will delete the account.

10. Security

We use hashed passwords, HTTPS, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Tell us at hello@bettingedge.app if you believe your account was accessed without permission.

11. International

We host in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information is processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection rules than your country.

12. Changes

We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be noted in the product or by email when practical. Continued use after an update is acceptance.
